Finding Your Spark

Finding Your Spark
by Kaidence Truitt

Softball has been my life for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until I found my spark that I realized what it truly meant to love the game. Your spark is that feeling that makes you want to push harder, practice longer, and never give up—even when things get tough. For me, it’s the rush I get when I’m behind the plate catching or the satisfaction of a solid hit driving in a run for my team.

Finding your spark doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, effort, and a lot of trial and error. I’ve played so many positions—catcher, third base, pitcher, and even outfield—and every single one has taught me something about myself. I didn’t love them all equally, but they all helped me figure out what I’m passionate about.

Your spark might be something different: the way you connect with teammates, the strategy of the game, or simply how much fun it is to compete. Whatever it is, once you find it, hold onto it. Let it fuel you to work harder and become the best version of yourself, not just on the field but in everything you do.

So, if you’re feeling stuck or unsure, keep exploring. Keep grinding. That spark is in you—it’s just waiting for the right moment to shine.

Stay passionate and keep swinging,
Kaidence
